Inspiration

Managing personal finances can be overwhelming, and making sustainable choices often feels like a luxury rather than a priority. Many people struggle to track their spending, reduce unnecessary expenses, and align their financial habits with their environmental values. GreenWealth was born out of a desire to bridge this gap, empowering people to make financially responsible and eco-conscious decisions effortlessly.

What it does

GreenWealth is a tool that helps users manage their money better and It encourages cutting wasteful spending thus investing in green energy and this dual approach boosts financial health while reducing environmental harm. In short, it’s about smarter cash flow and a greener planet.

How we built it

GreenWealth was developed with algorithms to optimize spending, built using Python and a React frontend for ease of use. Our flask backend, integrates the Cohere API to analyze user preferences and suggest green investments. Through iterative testing, we ensured a seamless blend of financial empowerment and sustainability.

Challenges we ran into

We faced difficulties integrating the Cohere API with the chatbot, requiring tweaks to handle inconsistent outputs. Users found early React interfaces confusing, so we redesigned for clarity through multiple iterations and Chatbot demanded extra debugging.

Accomplishments that we're proud of

We’re ecstatic about perfecting a python-driven engine that predicts savings opportunities with precision. Marrying the Cohere API with our flask backend to offer smart, green investment options was a breakthrough. Best of all, we’ve built a tool that will help people align their wallets with a greener future.

What we learned

We mastered integrating the Cohere API to extract meaningful patterns from user inputs, enhancing our platform’s intelligence. Crafting a React frontend and syncing it with tailwind deepened our skills in responsive design and data flow. Ultimately, we learned that building for both profit and planet demands relentless testing and teamwork. We also learned that effective teamwork hinges on clear communication to align our React and Cohere API efforts. Collaborating via discord taught us to resolve conflicts fast and deliver a unified platform.

What's next for GreenWealth

GreenWealth will enhance its ESG focus with tools like carbon tracking and governance scores, styled with Tailwind CSS for a sleek user experience. We’ll integrate Plaid for seamless bank data syncing and Flask to power lightweight backend APIs, alongside Cohere for ESG-aligned investment suggestions. Partnerships with ESG-driven firms will amplify our reach, all built with iterative design and testing.
