A flexible login page for both consumers and retailers
Product scanning page(before scanning)
Product scanning page(after scanning)
this is how the return products page looks initially
this is how the page turns as we rescan the product, the hold in user accounts reduce
we were inspired to create a system that helps to create cleanliness in the campus, a system that overcomes the challenges of other systems
The proposed system aims to reduce single-use plastic wastes in the campus by implementing a Smart waste management system. When a packaged food is purchased from the campus canteen, its existing barcode or QR code is scanned, and the user is charged the regular price. However, a portion of the product’s price, such as 30%, is temporarily held as a security deposit for the packaging is the system’s backend. Once the user returns the empty packaging and it is scanned again to match the original purchase, the hold is canceled, and the total charge remains the original price. If the packaging is not returned within a specified timeframe (24 hours), the held amount will be charged as a penalty, resulting in the user paying the extra price the next time he purchases a product, for failing to recycle.
We built the custom software called "GREENSCAN",which handles realtime data updation and retrieval of products and users, calculates, records and removes the temporary hold basd on the products purchased, it is a complete automated process, which supports barcode scanning support for users and products as well
The major Challenges we faced is integrating the python backend logic with the frontend of the software's ui
We are proud to create a system that solves all the major issues concerned with the "overcharge and refund" system(which is currently the best implemented model)
GreenScan will next be integrated with a programmable weighing machine, that is attached to collection bins, they make sure that an empty product is received from the user for recycling
