Inspiration

We never know whether or not we can recycle our trash! With an app like this, finding the answer is so much easier!

What it does

It takes a picture and uses Google Cloud Computer Vision to scan and analyze the photo.

How we built it

We used a pre-built, in-browser IDE called Snack.expo for react-native in order to avoid cross platform dependencies and collaborate.

Challenges we ran into

We had trouble finding a good computer vision API.

Accomplishments that we're proud of

We were really proud of making a REST call to the Google Computer Vision API.

What we learned

We learned much more about React-Native and JavaScript

What's next for GreenRaccoon

Full app deployment and development will include more features and better logical decision making.
