Observing the growing concern over environmental degradation and realizing the power of individual actions in combating this crisis, we were motivated to create an engaging way to promote sustainability. "GreenQuest" aims to transform the concept of environmental responsibility from a duty into an exciting journey, encouraging users to adopt greener habits through gamification.
What it does
"GreenQuest" gamifies the pursuit of a sustainable lifestyle. Users embark on quests like reducing water usage, recycling, or biking instead of driving. Completing these tasks earns points, badges, and ranks, incentivizing eco-friendly behaviors. The app also includes a social feature, allowing users to compete with friends and share their achievements, further spreading environmental awareness and action.
How we built it
Our team utilized React Native for cross-platform app development, ensuring "GreenQuest" is accessible on both iOS and Android. We integrated APIs for tracking and verifying sustainable activities and used a cloud-based backend for user data management and social interactions. The development process involved iterative testing with potential users to refine UI/UX and ensure the app's missions are both fun and impactful.
Challenges we ran into
