Inspiration

I come from a small town in a developing nation. As the years are passing by, the number of vehicles I see moving on the street has increased. may look like a good sign of development when we look at the surface level but it has increased pollution in this area as well. Which led me to this idea. The idea of a website, that would calculate the carbon footprint for different travel experiences and promote sustainability through responsible traveling.

What it does

It calculates the carbon footprint of every journey. Users can input data about their train, car, motorbike, or flight journey and find out how much carbon footprint it causes.

How we built it

I built it using Figma. We first created a wireframe, then collected appropriate free stock images . Finally, we followed the wireframe and prototype the design. The process was sometimes difficult but we did it.

Challenges we ran into

my main challenge was to think of a feasible and useful idea. Sometimes we think of an idea that may not be feasible in the first place but in this case, while researching I found out about carbon footprint API making me believe that my idea is feasible, and decided to make my idea turn into a design.

Accomplishments that we're proud of

I am proud of myself for making a website that can inspire people to travel in a greener way. My website is user-friendly. The user can very easily find out the carbon footprint while also learning about what carbon footprint is through one of our web pages

What we learned

I learned about the amazing APIs present on the internet which can help so many users in choosing a sustainable lifestyle. I also learned a lot about sustainability and carbon foot[print while I did some research for my about C.f page.

What's next for GreenPath Finder

I will try to turn GreenPath Finder into a real website through Coding. As a person with some knowledge of web development, I will try to code this website. I will also add a sign-up feature to the website so that a user can see his or her carbon footprints of past journeys. I will also try to make it responsive for all screen sizes
