Inspiration:

The inspiration for GreenPath came from a desire to create a more sustainable and efficient way of connecting local farmers and consumers. I wanted to use technology to reduce waste and carbon emissions while promoting sustainable farming practices and making it easier for consumers to access locally-sourced products.

What it does:

GreenPath is a platform that connects local farmers with consumers in a sustainable and efficient way. The platform optimizes the transportation of goods from farms to local markets, reducing carbon emissions and waste. It also includes features such as a rating system for farmers based on their sustainability practices, educational resources on sustainable farming and consumption, and a marketplace for consumers to buy locally-sourced and sustainable products.

How we built it:

GreenPath was built using mobile technologies. The platform was developed for a mobile app using Swift and Xcode. The platform also integrates with third-party services for payment processing and geolocation.

Challenges we ran into:

One of the biggest challenges we faced was optimizing the transportation of goods from farms to local markets. I had to develop algorithms that could determine the most efficient routes for delivering goods while minimizing carbon emissions and waste. I also had to work with local farmers to ensure that their products were being delivered in a timely and sustainable manner.

Accomplishments that we're proud of:

I are proud of the fact that GreenPath has the potential to make a significant impact on reducing waste and carbon emissions while promoting sustainable farming practices. I are also proud of the fact that the platform is easy to use and provides consumers with access to locally-sourced and sustainable products.

What we learned:

Through the development of GreenPath, we learned a lot about sustainable farming practices and the challenges faced by local farmers. I also gained valuable experience in mobile applications, as well as integrating with third-party services.

What's next for GreenPath:

In the future, I plan to expand the platform to include more farmers and markets, as well as develop additional features such as a carbon footprint calculator for consumers. I also plan to work with local governments and organizations to promote sustainable farming practices and reduce waste and carbon emissions on a larger scale.
