Greenity

Inspiration

Our team's mission is to support sustainable lifestyle practices in NYC. We combined our interests (fashion, thrifting, being a foodie) and daily practices (taking public transportation) to come up with an app and website that touches upon all of those aspects in a more sustainable way.

What it does

Greenity is a mobile app and website that alerts NYC citizens about different ways of being sustainable in categories such as clothing, food, and transportation.

How we built it

We used Figma to create the design of the mobile app. We used Code Pen to structure + design the website portion of our hack.

Challenges we ran into

Some challenges we ran into is, for starters, the time constraint. We felt as though there were too many things we wanted to do, but not enough time available to execute. In addition, as most of us are beginners, learning and adjusting to our capabilities required some navigation but we were able to make the most of our knowledge.

Accomplishments that we're proud of

We are proud to have made a 2 part project in such a limited time! Time was a big constraint, but we managed to create something worthwhile.

What we learned

We learned more about how design plays a role in the user experience of tech interfaces, and also realized the capabilities in which tech can provide to help make the world a better place.

What's next for Greenity

We will post updates of specific of NYC events and partnerships. In addition, we will continue to grow our own initiative as well as support local ones near us.
