Inspiration

The idea for Ecofy (or Greenify) came from routines that are currently being done in certain companies, where the workers that make more eco-friendly efforts gets rewarded. And also my background as a Chemical Engineer let me create a model to give simplified approximations of the environmental impact of certain decisions.

Some of the most common issues users are struggling with are to

Have awareness of their environmental impact
Know what the environmental experts prioritize
Have motivation or reasons to make changes
Get to know the frequency of their habits
Not being overwhelmed of all the eco-friendly practices

Ecofy was implemented to solve all these issues and more as well as keeping positive mental health as its core with 2 widgets/view.

What it does

Ecofy let you see your environmental impact and your progression without overwhelming you.

It has 2 widgets, one to "participate" and one to manage your team

Participants Widget: Users get to answer once per day to 2 simple questions with 3 options each about their environment impact. You will see then the impact you are having (how many kilograms of CO2 have you produced) and your progress, and compare it with the general progress of your team.

Admin Widget: Admins of workspaces can customize with their widget the experience of all participants by creating teams, putting prizes, and more, so the participation get to be more friendly possible.

Challenges we ran and accomplishments

A few of the challenges/accomplishments:

Problem with time as the only member of project.
Finding a good balance between encouraging good choices and only raising awareness.
Finding a good balance between informative and overwhelming.
Research and contrast of information issued by authorities like the IPPC to use in the computation of the environmental impact of the participants of the app.
Using the Monday SDK and APIs as well as style guide.
