Inspiration

As we know we are the destroying the very world that gave us life everyday and no amount of screaming or activism can make the people do something for our environment. There are activists and environmentalists out there ready to do stuff around the world scattered and I also wanted to make something to connect them and VOILA ! i found the perfect idea when i thought of bringing it in the format of app and make the experience of planting trees and collecting waste rewarding and form a community, that'd definitely reach into many people and through small actions we'll start reducing the carbon footprint and maybe even get earth clean once again.

What it does

So this is a multi-device platform that has the following features

  • A profile dashboard with Name, Location, Bio and a progression system that keeps the user entertained in the act of greenery.

  • A leaderboards page that encourages the user to do more and fight towards the top making the process of environmental conservation challenging and gammified.

  • An actions page that gives you an overview of the things you've done and lets you submit new actions to receive points and level up. It works by clicking a photo of the action and choosing the action, the action is verified and points are given ( couldn't work on the verification part due to time constraints )

  • A homepage that gets you right into the mood with all the actions events all at your fingerprints once you login

  • An onboarding page that allows you to customize your name location and bio to keep yourself unique from the millions of users

How we built it

This was built from scratch completely using Bolt.AI and nothing else was used in the making of the app only prompts and vibe coding.

Challenges we ran into

There was a lot of errors I ran into while creating the app in Bolt.AI but its attempt to fix features along with some prompts made me handle all of them with ease. I can for sure say that someone with even no knowledge can create apps in Bolt.AI

Accomplishments that we're proud of

Designing and creating an entire app of my own idea and imagination with the help of prompts is just amazing and feels like an accomplishment and a project I WILL carry in my resume.

What we learned

I got more idea on the code for app development and learnt more about Expo Go and mainly learnt how to give better prompts for better results

What's next for Greenify

Improve the app and bring a lot of features like implementing a database for storing users and authentication and implementing a verification system and adding on many more features getting partners to work on with and i might end up actually making this idea come true because i feel like it has the potential to succeed
