Inspiration
I wanted to build an environmentally helpful skill that would be useful on a daily basis.
What it does
Greenhouser allows you to keep track of how much car-exhaust pollution you contribute to the earth.
How I built it
Written in Python 3.6, I used dictionaries, lists, and plenty of calculations based on info gathered from United States Environmental Protection Agency, (EPA.com).
Challenges I ran into
Coding for users who drive more than one vehicle, or multiple users of a single device.
Accomplishments that I'm proud of
Finishing it! Too bad I just missed the Tech For Good Alexa Skills Hackathon though.
What I learned
CO2, or Carbon Dioxide, is considered a greenhouse gas. Greenhouse gases are harmful to the environment, contributing to the greenhouse effect and consequently global warming. In short, the greenhouse effect takes place when the sun’s heat and radiation get trapped inside the earth’s atmosphere due to too many gases in the air blocking it from exiting back into space.
What's next for Greenhouser
Better functionality for a smoother user experience.
