The goal of our project was to identify the most suitable houses and locations for the installation of solar panels, in order to contribute to a greener future. As solar panels are a limited resource, it is important to use them strategically and efficiently.
To achieve this goal, we developed a prototype that can evaluate the fitness of a house for solar panel installation based on its roof. We implemented a pipeline that analyses satellite images and radiation data at a specific location to determine the potential solar energy that can be generated from the roof.
Our project aimed to provide a practical solution for individuals, companies, and governments to make informed decisions about where to install solar panels to maximize energy production and minimize waste. By identifying the best houses and locations for solar panels, we hope to contribute to the reduction of greenhouse gas emissions and the transition to a sustainable, low-carbon future.
