Inspiration

The inspiration behind Greenery came from our love for plants and the desire to make plant identification and learning about invasive species, water usage, and endangrement more accessible to everyone. We wanted to create a mobile application that combines advanced image recognition technology with a comprehensive plant library, providing users with an interactive and educational experience.

What it does

Greenery is a mobile application designed to help plant enthusiasts identify and learn about various plant species. With Greenery, users can capture or upload a photo of a plant, and our advanced image recognition technology quickly identifies the plant species. Users can then explore detailed information about the plant, including common names, scientific names, watering requirements, and more.

How we built it

Greenery was built using a combination of modern technologies. The app's frontend was developed using React, Ionic Framework, and CSS for the user interface design. We integrated advanced image recognition technology into the app using APIs and machine learning algorithms. The backend was built using Node.js and hosted on a cloud platform to handle data storage and retrieval. The app was developed with a mobile-first approach to ensure a seamless and intuitive user experience.

Challenges we ran into

During the development of Greenery, we faced several challenges. Implementing the image recognition technology and ensuring its accuracy required extensive testing and fine-tuning. Integrating various APIs and handling large amounts of data presented additional technical hurdles.
