What it does
This mobile app, built with Flutter and powered by Python and MongoDB, helps users reduce their carbon footprint. It offers a Carbon Footprint Calculator for personalized environmental impact assessments The app provides a continuous stream of Sustainability Tips to guide users towards eco-friendly practices. Users can also participate in Community Challenges, promoting collective efforts like tree planting and waste reduction.
How we built it
Mobile App Development: solution is a mobile app developed using Flutter, a popular open-source framework by Google for building natively compiled applications for mobile, web, and desktop from a single codebase. Flutter offers a rich set of pre-designed widgets, a reactive framework, and hot-reload capabilities for rapid development. It ensures a smooth and consistent user experience across iOS and Android platforms, reducing development time and cost.
Backend and Database Integration: The app's backend is implemented using Python and Firebase for data processing and user interactions. MongoDB serves as the database, storing user profiles, carbon footprint calculations, and app content. Firebase Authentication ensures secure user access. This combination offers scalability, flexibility, and real-time capabilities for handling user data, achievements, and community challenges.
