Inspiration

We took inspiration from the HowMightWe statement: How might we encourage and empower users to make more sustainable purchasing decisions?

What it does

GreenCred empowers users to make sustainable purchasing decisions by providing personalized recommendations, tracking spending habits, and generating a sustainability score while maintaining data privacy and security.

How we built it

We built GreenCred prototype with Figma.

Challenges we ran into

• Two major hurdles that we faced were designing an intuitive user interface and motivating users to actively participate in the app and adopt sustainability practices.
• Absence of similar apps, which require us to adopt a user-centric approach and consider each point from the user’s perspective.

Accomplishments that we're proud of

• Achieved the development of a user-friendly interface that enables users to collect points for sustainable purchases, which can be redeemed for discounts on their future shopping.
• Professionally polishing UI/UX to build trust with users and enhance the credibility of the platform.
• A visually appealing user-friendly interface and discounts can keep users coming back to the app, using it regularly, and encouraging them to make sustainable purchases.

What we learned

• Learned to work together with the team on Figma to build UI/UX.
• We discovered that prioritizing eco-friendly actions and incentivizing sustainable behavior with rewards and coupons can encourage user engagement and promote a more sustainable environment. This will help promote the local small sustainable businesses.

Polish the app and start with the development of the app using React Native.
