Inspiration

Why we should waste free energy? This was one of my first questions when I started working with solar generation systems. Why people cannot create a passive income using this energy? This was my second one.

Creating a passive income that promotes the investment in greener ways of generating energy and democratizing the generation of energy will accelerate the transition to a more sustainable future!

What it does

Imagine a node in a blockchain with the ability of ramping up and down is energy consumption based on the amount of excess energy produced by solar generation systems. This is the core.

When the nodes are powered they will request jobs from a blockchain network and resolve the job without any CO2 emissions i.e. minting green (zero emissions) NFTs!

How we built it

We have already created the processing unit that variates its processing power according to the amount of energy available! Now we need to create the UI and develop the applications to be implemented!

Challenges we ran into

Starting a project brings many challenges, but we are determined! The main obstacles that we need to overcome in the development process are:

  • Creating community.
  • Identifying the most suitable applications to participate in a blockchain environment i.e. NFTs, DeFi, etc.
  • Moving from a prototype stage of the technology to a MVP stage: Next iteration of the hardware and first iteration of the front-end.

Accomplishments that we're proud of

We have already created the device that can variate is energy usage based on the amount of excess of energy produced by residential solar systems.

What we learned

That there is big opportunity! No one is thinking of uses for the excess of energy produced because it affects the business of traditional companies.

That there is more opportunity! The more solar systems there are the more regulations come into place by governments and less democratization of energy generation.

We have learn that the industry is interested! We have participated in selection processes for traditional start up accelerator programs but we do not feel is the right approach. We have learned, through getting more and more involved in the blockchain community that this is the correct space for our project. We believe in decentralization and the power of people joining together as equals. This has been our main lesson!

What's next for GreenBCProject

The most immediate next steps are:

  • Consolidating the idea and becoming a project.
  • Work on letting the world know our intensions.
  • Finding a group of mindlike people with the skills that we are missing (web3 developers, XD designers, PR legends, etc) that can start working as a solid group towards a bright future.
  • Raise funds through the crypto community that is willing to invest in green data processing that will promote more investment in greener electricity generation.
