Greenade is a decentralized carbon credit marketplace, which allows Producers to plugin their DMRV data and attract consumers - Powered by DataDAOs and Co2.storage

Inspiration

The opportunity for value capture in the great energy transition is massive. We believe that helping the world become a greener place while aligning incentives for everyone involved, makes this opportunity a win-win for all parties involved.

What it does

We are a marketplace which plugs into DMRV data provided by Producers and liquidity using Carbon Credits and dRECs, which can then be traded in an open market, allowing for better incentivization of the producers.

How we built it

  • The ethos for this projects are underpinned in decentralization.
  • All of the logic is written in EVM compatible smart contracts (demo hosted, uses FEVM Hyperspace).
  • We use CO2.storage for storing templated DMRV information
  • We use AMMs for trading carbon credits for tFIL (testnet FIL)
  • Multi-Verifier approvals to have a decentralized verification and mantain integrity

Challenges we ran into

  • Setting up CO2.storage locally, was tougher than expected, but it did end up working well in the end (although we should've used throwaway accounts, we don't particularly feel good about polluting the namespace)

Accomplishments that we're proud of

  • Focus on user experience and ease of use. We spent a lot of time designing this

What we learned

  • Learnt a lot about the carbon credit and refi ecosystem and the opportunities that stand in front of us
  • Connected with amazing people who opened our minds to different ways to think in ReFi
  • Researched heavily on DMRV and it's significance.

What's next for Greenade - ReFi Data Dao

  • We want to work on formalizing DMRV verification.
  • Partner with local non-profits and get feedback regarding what they feel about using tools such as greenade for their next rodeo.
