Inspiration
Driven by environmental concerns, we aimed to create a recycling app to empower individuals to make a positive impact.
What it does
Here you can see where are the recycle centers and go there to bring the plastic products. When you put them in the machine and recycle them, you will get a QR code that you have to scan with the mobile app and with the code you will get your points added to the profile. With that points you will have bonus to use in other shops and markets.
How we built it
We prototyped, iterated, and developed an intuitive app for personalized recycling recommendations.
Challenges we ran into
Hosting the application, promoting behavioral change, integrating authentication and authorization and ensuring scalability were key challenges we faced.
Accomplishments that we're proud of
We're proud of several key accomplishments achieved during the development of our recycling application: Positive User Impact: Seeing tangible improvements in recycling participation and environmental awareness among our user base. Innovative Features: Introducing cutting-edge features such as personalized recycling recommendations and machine learning algorithms to enhance user engagement and effectiveness. Community Recognition: Receiving recognition and accolades from environmental organizations, communities, and users for our contributions to sustainability efforts. Scalability: Building a robust and scalable platform capable of accommodating growing user demands and expanding feature sets. User Satisfaction: Receiving positive feedback and testimonials from users who appreciate the usability, effectiveness, and impact of our application on their recycling habits and environmental consciousness. Partnerships: Establishing partnerships with recycling facilities, municipalities, and environmental groups to amplify our reach and effectiveness in promoting sustainable practices.
What we learned
Through the development of our recycling application, we learned about: User Behavior: Understanding what drives recycling habits. Data Management: Integrating and managing diverse data sources effectively. Technology: Leveraging cutting-edge tech for a seamless user experience. Community Engagement: Collaborating for impactful environmental initiatives. Iterative Development: Continuous improvement based on user feedback.
What's next for Green Zone
An mobile application where the user can go to the market, recycle products, scan QR code and get points with which they can buy products from other markets/shops. Also enhancing the authorization & authentication of the web application.
Note: The application currently can allow only one connection to the database in a moment, that is due to the free render database service rules for the free tier :(. So keep that in mind when testing the application
