Inspiration

Our project is inspired by the need to educate younger generations about the environment in an engaging and interactive way. We want to make learning about environmental issues fun and memorable for students and easier for classrooms.

What it does

Our interactive website is designed to help classrooms of a younger demographic learn about the environment and become more aware of their impact on it. Users can click on a "wheel of fortune" that presents different questions related to environmental topics. This wheel is color-coded to indicate different difficulty levels. After spinning the wheel, students answer questions in a mini Kahoot-style quiz, earning points for correct answers. This gamified approach encourages participation and makes learning enjoyable.

How we built it

We initially designed our website prototype using mainly Canva and a little bit of coding. Moving forward, we plan to redesign it and code more of the software using STYLE.CSS, HTML, and JAVA script. This will allow us to implement interactive elements and ensure the website is responsive and accessible on various devices.

Challenges we ran into

We encountered several challenges during the design phase, particularly in creating an intuitive and engaging user interface that appeals to younger students. Additionally, transitioning from a design prototype to actual code poses its own set of technical challenges, such as ensuring the functionality of interactive elements and maintaining a smooth user experience.

Accomplishments that we're proud of

We're proud of our innovative approach to making environmental education interactive and fun. The concept of combining a wheel of fortune with a quiz game is unique and has the potential to make a significant impact on how students learn about the environment.

What we learned

We learned valuable problem-solving skills and gained experience in creating something that can be useful in educational settings. Our project taught us how to develop an interactive platform that educates young students about real-life environmental issues in an enjoyable way.

What's next for Green Wheel - ECO Interactive Education Website

We plan to expand our website's reach to a larger demographic, including high school students and teenagers. To achieve this, we will redesign the theme to be more aesthetically pleasing and appealing to older students. Additionally, we will update the content to be more informative and relevant to their age group, providing a deeper understanding of environmental topics.
