Inspiration

We were inspired by our passion to improve and enhance the health, education, and recreation benefits that parks and open/green spaces provide for civilians, especially those who live in underserved or environmentally high-risk areas.

What it does

Locates nearest parks, addresses health disparities using a geospatial approach, provides an understanding of service area park coverage, and engages with user feedback and community.

How we built it

We used a suite of ArcGIS products (Pro, Online, Dashboards, API for JavaScript, Calcite for UI Design Systems, StoryMaps, Experience Builder, Survey123).

Challenges we ran into

Network analysis service cannot be published to the online organization which prevented us from performing network routing. Suitability modeler and analysis required more in-depth mathematical calculations. Rendering of images and QR codes may require more loading time.

What we learned

Network analysis cannot be published to the online organization which prevented us from performing network routing. We also learned how detailed the suitability and network analyses tools required for precise assessment of park service areas and suitability.
