Inspiration
- I was inspired by other eco-friendly companies that use sustainable and fair trade practices including high quality materials. I was also inspired by companies that make their products by hand and stand by their product(s).
What it does
- This project showcases a fictional company that developed a e-commerce platform with features including but not limited to a product page where users can see different shoes and a FAQ page. Users can also navigate to the home page and see information that compels them to take action and a space showing current clients. There is also a space for users to signup and get the latest notifications on sales and other events. Moreover, there is a testimonial section showcase client reviews and a email newsletter sign up.
How we built it
- We built it using HTML, CSS, and JavaScript
Challenges we ran into
- The navbar icon for the shoe was not displaying, we looked for a copyright free icon to use for the project and copied the image address to solve the issue. Popup was not displaying and I went through the JavaScript code to try and debug the issue. I realized maybe it was the HTML code and tried debugging the issue from there. After considering the deadline and complexity of the issue, the decision was made to remove the code and add it later on.
Accomplishments that we're proud of
- CSS Animations
- Sliding client testimonial section
- FAQ section that expands and collapses on click
What we learned
I learned how to create a hero section that is compelling and grabs the user’s attention. In addition, I learned to create a hero section that compels the user to take action and sign up for the newsletter for further information.
What's next for Green Sole Co.
- What's next for Green Sole Co. is incorporating a AI chatbot, adding performance analytics to track sustainability metrics (e.g., material usage, end-of-life recycling programs), linking to a sustainability policy or supplier information, and a authentication system that allows users to login and save products. Fixing and added the popup is also in the works.
