Inspiration

For this project I was inspired by misinformation I have come across about sustainability and living a sustainable life. I wanted to create a place where information could be compiled into one place that are easy access for everyday individuals.

What it does

Green Scape is a website that has a compilation of eco-friendly practices and ways to learn about climate change and living green within ones means.

How I built it

Green Scape has four HTML pages and CSS styling, and was built on the software creation platform Replit.

Challenges I ran into

Initially, I wanted to make a chatbot that can tell you how to dispose of your trash and even began writing some of the code in JS, however it would have been my first time combining my front-end and back-end knowledge, and I ran out of time to solve this issue. I join a team so I worked solo on this hack, which means I was very limited to the beginner knowledge I have and what I could figure out as I went.

Accomplishments that we're proud of

The navigation feature was fun to make and worked to break down the information I had on the website into different pages.

What we learned

I learned a lot about formatting HTML and using CSS properties I had never used before. It was my first time using the ''':hover''' selector in CSS, and I had also never fitted a page to different screen size before.

What's next for Green Scheme

Next Green Scheme will grow into an interactive place where people can ask a chatbot for help or post to question forms and get advice from certified and qualified professionals.
