Inspiration
Since the challenge was into the sky, we chose to make the project about greenhouse gases. As the youth, we are worried about the environment for the future because the amount of pollution going on isn't a sustainable amount.
What it does
The app has articles that changes everyday and the articles are written by many different authors to show a perspective of everyone. There is an air quality index tracker. This pairs with your location and is a scrollable map. The last section of this is an AI chatbot that helps you out with any tasks you can do to ensure a reduced carbon footprint.
How we built it
We built this app through figma and superappp. We knew we wanted to create an accesible Apple application and after a lit of research, we learned that we could create the front-end through figma and superappp would help us code it.
Challenges we ran into
We were unable to navigate the websites and every code we got would crash, so we had to go back in and fix it a lot of times. We also had to download the applications on the spot, so that took away a lot of our time.
Accomplishments that we're proud of
We're proud of the app for working and proud of ourselves to build Green Print with so much patience.
What we learned
We learned about new applications to make code without actually coding (we designed the whole idea and front code though). One article given was about the AQI, so we learned a lot about the Air Quality Index!
What's next for Green Print
We hope to alter it and make it work the best it can and hopefully publish it. The publication costs time and money, so maybe in the far future, we will be able to achieve that.
