Inspiration

We are inspired by the problem of deforestation, where the loss of trees and other vegetation can cause climate change, desertification, soil erosion, fewer crops, flooding, and increased greenhouse gases in the atmosphere. Besides that, people are actually aware of this problem, but a lot of urban working adults do not have time to plant, and most urban farmers are facing problems in finding capital investment to farm.

What it does

AgriCloud is an app that enables people who want to plant but have no time to invest some money based on the subscriptions that we have prepared. These subscriptions have their own benefits (the number of plants you can invest in, the more, the better). The money then will be subsidized to our farmer; therefore, the plants will be nurtured to the point that it is sold. Other than that, urban farmers who are trying to find sponsors for their farms can share their farm details in this app. Thus, this app can be a medium to connect urban farmers and the community.

How we built it

We utilized Figma to create the design or the prototype for this app.

Challenges we ran into

As two types of users will use this app, the community, and the farmers, we have to design two different interfaces that are suitable for both users.

Accomplishments that we're proud of

We were able to do researches that helped in finding the best deal that can benefit both the farmers and also the community who desire to spend money on planting.

What we learned

We were able to learn the process of UI/UX design when we tried to create our app's prototype. Other than that, we got to know deeper about how the financial flow should work in an app.

What's next for AgriCloud

In the future, as the community grows up, we aim to have our own crowdfunded farm along with the farmers who join the app as well.
