Green Owl

What inspired you?

Whenever any of us do a late night study we tend to sacrifice health for convenience or convenience for health to nourish our mind and body . We wanted a clean, green approach to eating food with convenience.

What does the project do?

An app shares the locations of vending machines owned and operated by green owl, students have to purchase food within the app. The food is discounted since they are leftovers from the restaurant. The restaurant vendors pack leftover food after their closing time and the vending machines operate from closing time of the food court till 4 am. After 4 am the food is donated or disposed of by Green Owl.

What tools did you use?

We used Figma for prototyping and Kivy to build the app in python.

What you challenges have you faced?

People are human therefore we need breaks and finding a problem and a solution to that problem takes a long time. Building a business needs time and effort.

What are you proud?

Designing a sustainable business model, prototyping an app and building it.

What is next for the project?

If we get sponsors or investors we can make it a scalable business.
