Inspiration

We got to know about youthopeian envirothon through our college. We all know how critical the climate change situation is. We as team wanted to do something to help make a change and being a youthopeian allowed us to do that.

What it does

Our website provides easy to follow tasks and challenges for almost all age groups to encourage people to live an eco-friendly website. To ensure that they stay motivated throughout their journey of green living, we provide our users with medals, badges and an e- certificate after completion of all the tasks. To lessen the efforts of the user and avoid endless hours of scrolling internet, we also provide direct links of some verified eco friendly products to promote green shopping.

How we built it

We brainstormed ideas together and had multiple meetings online. We mainly used html, css and react js to build the website. To create the images, icons and banners used in the website, we used Canva and gimp.

Challenges we ran into

Everyone in our team has just entered their sophomore year and this was our first Hackathon together as a team. Since we had beginner level technical skills, we couldn't exactly deliverwhat we thought of originally making.

Accomplishments that we're proud of

As mentioned above, this was our first Hackathon together as a team. We didnt know much about each other and had no definite direction initially. But with regular meetings and multiple brainstorming sessions, we were able to make our website, " green living ".

What we learned

We learnt direct application of html, css and react js while making this project. We also learnt the importance of soft skills such as teamwork, leadership and communication. The theme of this hackathon also helped us to know more about our environment and ways to tackle related issues.

What's next for Green Living Youthopeian

We will continue to increase our technical and non technical skills. To be able to help our society will be our main focus.
