A Journey to Create a Green Corridor for Ambulances

Inspiration It was a typical day when one of our team-mate was stuck in traffic and noticed an ambulance struggling to get through the congested roads. we realised that every minute counts in emergency situations, and the delay caused by traffic could be the difference between life and death. This thought stayed with him, and we knew we had to do something about it.

The Journey Begins Along with the team, We started researching ways to create a smoother and faster route for ambulances. We learned about the concept of "Green Corridors" and how they were successfully implemented in some countries. With this knowledge, we set out to create a system that could clear the way for ambulances in our region.

Building the Project We faced several challenges along the way, but our determination to make a difference kept us going. Our team worked tirelessly to develop a system that would notify the traffic police when an ambulance was on its way and ask them to clear the route. The system would also track the ambulance's progress and update the traffic police accordingly.

Overcoming the Challenges One of the biggest challenges we faced was that we were unable to integrate map, which calculates path and updates path based in real time, All the maps we found were not that dynamic to give a functionality of continuous tracking of ambulance as well as none of them were available for free. So after tons of googling and research we found about bing maps which is free to use, although we were limited by its usage but we somehow managed to perform required functionalities with it.

The Outcome Despite the challenges, we persevered and were able to launch our project successfully at a level where our project can be considered as a proof of concept.

Conclusion Creating a Green Corridor for ambulances has been a journey filled with challenges, but it has also been a journey of growth and learning. We are grateful for the opportunity to work on this project and make a positive impact in the community. We hope that our project will inspire others to take action and make a difference in their communities.
