Inspiration

We both have the same shared experience, as do many women and other minorities, of street harassment. With this shared experience comes shared knowledge, like what places are hotspots for street harassment. So, we thought it would be communally beneficial were the people of a city could share their knowledge so everyone can benefit from it.

What it does

Green Light is a website where you can view and filter a map of your city to see where these hotspots of street harassment are for certain demographics, times and days. It also has a reporting feature which it gets its data from. There users can fill out a report on their experience.

How we built it

We built it using CSS and HTML

Challenges we ran into

We are both absolute beginners in coding finding a plan of attack was difficult. We also had trouble having ideas in which we could accomplish. We ended on creating Green Light whose website's font-end we have developed.

Accomplishments that we're proud of

Sydni is proud that she was able to learn HTML and CSS enough to create our website and Jenessa is proud of how far we have come along. Together we are proud of our teamwork and perseverance through frustrating moments.

What we learned

We learned how to work together and developed new and existing skills

What's next for Green light

We hope to take it functional and add a support page for pwoplw where they can find reasources
