Problem

While the world makes great efforts on evoking environmental awareness from people, it does a bad job making use of it. As people understand the emergency to save the earth, they often encounter the frustration of only finding limited pathways to put their will into tangible actions. Due to a lack of information, organizations that launched sustainability projects weren’t able to get enough responses, and the individuals who wanted to make contributions weren’t even aware of these opportunities. Many sustainability systems flopped because their usage rate was so low that the generated benefit could never surpass the investment cost. How to overcome the low usage rate of existing sustainability projects due to information insufficiency is the problem we want to solve because if the big entities with resources and capital lose the motivation to promote sustainability, they will return to non-eco-friendly modes, and as individuals will have even fewer pathways to help our ecosystem.

Solution

Our goal is to find a solution to increase the usage rate of existing sustainability services by building a platform that makes information more accessible and brings people sharing the same goal to motivate each other. To make information more accessible, we integrate information about all kinds of events, services, and tips aiming at improving sustainability. Users can sort them by general categories, distance, or other criteria. To stress the sense of community collaboration, we incorporate the community module in which users can connect, share information, and launch community goals. To incentivize users to participate more, we incorporate an honor system that rewards users with credits that might be exchanged into actual financial rewards.
