Inspiration

The inspiration for this project was from a team member whose grandparents used to live on farm when he was growing up. As a child, he saw them struggle due to various factors, including not enough precipitation or too hot or too cold temperatures. He was inspired to make a website that his family and other people like them could use to decide what actions to take in order to increase their income from farming.

What it does

The website lets the user change arguments for various paramaters that could impact what you plant and your income, such as the precipitation for the year, the type of soil, location, the temperature, and much more. Based off the users arguments, a chatbot will give the user advice on what actions should be taken to maximize farming profit for that year.

How we built it

We built it using Python and Django for back-end development. We used HTML, CSS, and Javascript for the front-end. Additionally, we used GPT 3.5 API for the chatbot.
