This project has the goal of improving a user's finances and sustainability whilst grocery shopping. In a fun game-like setting it allows a user to input their shopping list, suggests alternative items that are better financially or emissions-wise, calculates the total savings and displays it to them.
In a world of misinformation, sourcing accurate data to best improve our user's lives was incredibly important to this project. As a result, all of our price and emissions data for foodstuffs was sourced from Our World in Data and ONS.
All the graphics were designed during the hackathon by our team members with the goal of creating a stand out website that is both fun and interactive so our users are more likely to come back and use the website - thus increasing their savings and impact on the planet.
