Almost everyone has leftover ingredients in their fridge. A lot of this ends up going to waste when it could potentially be used.

By entering ingredients, this project provides you with recipes you can use to finish up these ingredients, as well as composability tips and fun facts through a text bot subscription

We used Python and a recipe API for backend development, as well as implementing code from Twilio to make the mobile service work. For frontend, we used Figma and React.js to make the web interface

The main challenges we encountered were organization and making the website interactive through React, as it was a new topic for everyone in the group

We were able to successfully incorporate the recipe API in the backend development.

We learned that there are many different API's to use for a multitude of different things, and that you have to figure out how to effectively use them in your code. Additionally, we learned that React uses JSX which is unique to React and is what essentially makes the DOM elements,

What is next for Gas Gastronomy is filtering out repetitive recipes, and incorporating additional features such as helping people find composting centers near them, as well as being more specific in regards to measurements of ingredients.
