Green Chain

Inspiration

The inspiration of the Green chain is our desire to create a decentralized application. We were inspired to make a product that is secure, transparent and trustworthy for the supply-chain that carries the idea of promoting the green economy and less carbon footprints.

What it does

Greenchain allows supply chain companies to transparently and securely put their supply chain transactions in blockchain to create trust with customers. We provide platform for the users who can shop from carbon-neutral (or least-producing) stores, while rewarding the users with green token or NFT for shopping nature friendly items from our store.We also calculate the carbon footprint of the companies from the data they provide for their supply chain and we show the companies carbon-emit percentage to the customers in our store.

How we built it

To make the supply chain data secure, transparent and trustworthy for the customers we used blockchain. Green chain is built using solidity smart contract in backend, next.js in frontend and ethers.js to communicate between the frontend and backend.

Challenges we ran into

We faced challenges in creating contracts and understanding how it works in the ethereum blockchain. We faced issues while connecting the ethereum blockchain to our front-end in Nextjs.

Accomplishments that we're proud of

We are proud to make a working platform using blockchain.

What we learned

Solidity was new for us, we learned how to write clean code in Solidity. We learned how to make contracts and how to execute it in a Next js project.

What's next for Green Chain

Green Chain will look forward to include different companies in Europe to make there companies supply chain secure, transparent and trustworthy and would be looking forward for making the world divert towards a green economy and improving the technology to make the world carbon-neutral.
