The inspiration for Great Future Nursery School came from real-life experience in a rural community where I met an 11-year-old girl who had not yet started school. Her parents believed education was unnecessary because she would eventually get married and become a housewife. This moment, combined with the belief that a child’s future is shaped early like a young tree, inspired me to act and promote the right to education for every child.
Great Future Nursery School provides early childhood education for children in a rural area, especially those who were previously unable to access schooling. It ensures that young children learn in a safe, supportive, and structured environment, giving them equal opportunities regardless of their background. The school also raises awareness about the importance of education as a basic right.
We started by identifying the problem in the community and engaging with families to understand their challenges. After discussions with parents, we agreed to support the cost of education equally (50/50). We then organized the idea into a functioning nursery school structure and created a learning environment where children can study together. The project was developed through community engagement, planning, and collaboration with families.
One of the main challenges was changing the mindset of parents who did not initially value education for their children, especially girls. Another challenge was financial limitation, as education costs were a concern for families. It was also difficult to balance cultural beliefs with the importance of formal education.
We are proud that we successfully convinced parents to support education and helped a child start school who had never been enrolled before. We also created a learning space where children with similar challenges can now study together freely. Most importantly, we transformed awareness in the community about the value of education.
We learned that education advocacy is powerful and that small conversations can lead to real change. We also learned that cultural beliefs can be changed through respectful dialogue and awareness. Most importantly, we learned that education is not just a privilege, but a fundamental right for every child.
The next step is to expand the nursery school into a primary school so that children can continue their education without interruption. We also aim to reach more rural families, raise awareness about children’s rights, and support more students who are currently not in school. Our long-term goal is to create a sustainable education model that can help more communities.
