Grearth Applicatio
Inspiration
Indonesia is the largest food waster in Southeast Asia, generating over 20 million tons of food waste each year. This waste not only impacts food security but also contributes to greenhouse gas emissions and environmental degradation.
We were inspired to create Grearth, a mobile application that empowers individuals and communities to track, reduce, and responsibly manage waste, while earning rewards and participating in environmental movements.
What it does
Grearth is a react native mobile application have features
Pick up that feature is for order delivery to come their house and the delivery will pick up their food waste and buy it from them
Volunteer This feature is for everyone who wants to join volunteer clean-up activities
Chat with bot This feature allows you to ask AI about the environment and learn more about sustainability topics.
Point This feature allows users to convert their points into money.
Volunteer This feature is for everyone who wants to join volunteer clean-up activities
How we built it
- Frontend: React Native (Expo)
- Design: Figma for UI/UX
- Tools: GitHub, VSCode, Canva, Gdocs
- APIs: Qwen AI API
Challenges we ran into
We have two problems.
The first problem is that our navigation button in the application doesn't work, and we haven't been able to fix it.
The second problem is that none of us knows how to push the project to GitHub.
What we learned
We all learned how to use React Native. Before this hackathon, none of us had any experience with React Native or mobile application development. So, building this application was our very first time working with these technologies.
Accomplishments that we're proud of
We successfully built our first mobile application using React Native, despite having no prior experience
What's next for Grearth App
We’re excited about the potential of Grearth. After this hackathon, if the outcome is positive, we plan to develop and launch Grearth in real life to help reduce food waste in Indonesia.
However, if the result doesn’t go as expected, we will take what we’ve learned and use it to develop new ideas to solve other problems faced by our country.
