Inspiration

Inspired by the modern crisis of humanity losing its home due to global warming and fracturing into three ideological groups that fight over differing survival strategies. We focused on the theme of technology's betrayal: the success of "gravity-defying research" becoming a trigger for escalating conflict rather than a beacon of hope.

What it does

A simulation of human "survival ethics" under extreme environmental pressure. This dramatic work explores how the physical liberation from gravity causes the three ethical viewpoints—"accept natural death," "cooperate to survive," and "select the elite"—to collide and further destroy the world.

How we built it

The project was structured around an "Ethical Trigger Mechanism." This plot logic dictates that a technical breakthrough—the "success of gravity elimination"—instantaneously maximizes the relative tension between the three ideological groups, escalating the conflict into all-out warfare beyond the initial warming crisis.

Challenges we ran into

The greatest challenge was portraying the inhumane actions of the "Elite Selection Group" and the fundamentalist military intervention of the "Natural Death Acceptance Group" not merely as villainy, but as actions rooted in each group's specific survival ethics. Achieving motivational realism was the core difficulty.

Accomplishments that we're proud of

We are proud to have deeply explored the fundamental question: "Why do humans continue to fight each other, even when freed from the constraint of Earth?" Specifically, we successfully conveyed the contrast between physical law (gravity) and human conflict (sin), symbolized by the image of the apple, throughout the narrative.

What we learned

We learned that even when environmental and physical constraints (like gravity) are removed, humanity's ideological constraints do not vanish. We gained the insight that true freedom depends not on technological advancement, but on how well we accept coexistence with others holding fundamentally different beliefs.

What's next for GRAVITY

We plan to develop the scenario for the final showdown between the three groups in off-world settings, such as zero-gravity environments or new settlements on Mars. We are also conceptualizing a resistance story where the people targeted for elimination by the elite group reverse-engineer the gravity technology for a counterattack.
