Inspiration
General Relativity says that time slows down for you when you're in the gravitational field of a high-mass object, like a neutron star or black hole. The goal was to incorporate this idea as a game mechanic.
What it does
The Space Miner is in orbit around a black hole, and has to collect both asteroids full of precious metals, and fuel to power his/her jetpack. Survive as long as you can without being sucked into the black hole.
How I built it
Unity 2D, with original pixel art made in Gimp.
Challenges I ran into
Maintaining constant circular orbits, and pretty much everything to do with the time-slowing-down mechanic.
Accomplishments that I'm proud of
Getting the physics to work, making pixel art and animation from scratch.
What I learned
A lot about Unity and C#, for example how to randomly instantiate prefab objects at game start.
What's next for Gravity Miner
Cleaning up graphics, UI, etc.
