We want to remind ourselves of the things to be grateful for during our daily lives.

What it does

Gratitude Journal records daily entries about things that the user is grateful for. The user can make gratitude posts, view gratitude posts from friends on a feed, and view her own past posts.

How we built it

We built it using Django and a PostgreSQL database

Challenges we ran into

Learning a new framework and figuring out how to integrate our codes.

Accomplishments that we're proud of

We came up with a unique idea that can help people take care of themselves better. Depression and anxiety are important problems, and research has shown that making diary entries have numerous positive impacts, such as alleviating anxiety and even improving our memory. We also made a web app within a day using a framework that we just picked up.

What we learned

We learned how to make a web app from Django from scratch.

What's next for Gratitude Journal

We want to have features that make Gratitude Journal more attractive for users. We hope to motivate users to key in entries by designing a point accumulation system, where they can exchange points for creating their own garden by growing plants and getting decorations. Next, we want to allow users to add photos in their posts. We also want to let users make friend groups and toggle their privacy settings, so they can choose who or which groups are able to view their posts.
