Inspiration

Our team is super passionate about political engagement in America. Being involved in government shouldn't be as difficult as it is now. We wanted to create a mobile application platform with that makes political change possible by simplifying the process by which individuals learn about political candidates and their agendas, along with statewide ballot initiatives. We want to see America become a better place!

What it does

GrassPol is a mobile platform that gives all relevant local, state, and federal candidates tailored to a specific voter based on their location and their political affiliation (if applicable). It also informs them about statewide and local ballot initiatives, empowers them with information to make educated decisions, and gives them resources to get involved in their political activity. We simplify the political engagement process for ALL voters in America. We also offer a rewards based system for users to further incentivize them to become politically engaged citizens.

How I built it

The front end of the mobile application was built in React Native. Schematics were made in Adobe XD. We are planning on making the back-end using Firebase.

Challenges I ran into

Developing this application took lots of time, and there was healthy debate amongst our team members to decide how best approach specific policies. Business strategy was also tricky to develop, but I think we got it done.
