Graphs and Projections

Inspiration

Other financial apps have graphs to show history. For projections, I have not seen any show how your account can grow based on habits which can help provide motivation or aim for goals.

What it does

Generates balance history for an account and creates a graph. You can also use the history to generate a base projection and you can configure average monthly deposits and withdrawals.

How we built it

Using nessies api, you can retrieve an accounts full transaction history

Challenges we ran into

Dependency versions. There are many finicky parts of android studio where it will attempt to add dependencies instead of just importing function.

Accomplishments that we're proud of

Created a configurable projections page within a day that most apps do not apply.

What we learned

How to utilize nessie api in android studio to access acounts, balance history, and transaction history to create an application similar to the Capital One app.

What's next for Graphs and Projections

Generate monthly deposits and spending necessary to meet a certain goal made by a user, ie: save 5000 in 5 years.
