Inspiration
Our inspiration was speaking to someone in the field who talked about how the grant application process was painfully long, grants with due dates of under 3 months away people wouldn't think of applying too. Most started grants take 4-12 months.
What it does
We identified the primary parts that could be automated, finding grants relevant to a user's topic, drafting/structuring submissions and cutting down long detailed proposals into concise summary's to match identify key points/constraints
How we built it
Built using neon, various apis, gemini api, next.js, react, typescript, javascript, tailwind, postgressql, react, prisma and deployed on vercel.
Challenges we ran into
First Hackathon
Accomplishments that we're proud of
Solving a real-world problem
What we learned
We used to gemini API to make a chat bot, summarise, and draft papers
What's next for GrantGenie
Next we plan on integrating additional high quality data sources and other federal research databases, to make results even more accurate. We also want to introduce advanced AI features like “grade my proposal,” which will compare a user’s draft to successful funded projects and give actionable feedback. These additions will help users refine proposals and dramatically increase their chances of getting funded.
