Inspiration
We wanted an inexpensive and easy way to add a secondary alarm system to any vehicle.
What it does
It detects if any door has been opened or if there is motion inside the car.
How we built it
We used an Arduino uno and ultrasonic sensors to collaboratively develope our system.
Challenges we ran into
When we first implemented our software, the ultrasonic sensors would set off the alarm at random due to fluctuation in its readings. We were able to fix this by setting a boundary for the change in distance that must be broken before the alarm will activate.
Accomplishments that we're proud of
Our team worked together in a competitive environment to develop an idea from scratch. We are proud of our team for coming together, despite setbacks and challenges, in order to accomplish a common goal.
What we learned
We learned how an ultrasonic sensor worked along with a piezo buzzer.
