Inspiration

We all really love space, and thought that a cute female character trying to make the world a little more colorful would be a great game to make some people a little bit happier.

What it does

Our main character Nova walks around, fighting blobs of gray and trying to bring color to the moon. Featuring cool music and epic parallax backgrounds! While this game is still a work in progress, it's still a cute experience to play.

How we built it

We used UNITY, Visual Studio, and PYCHARM.

Challenges we ran into

We had a learning curve with Unity, and especially with the animation and collision operations in Unity. Our artist left a little early so we ended up coordinating remotely to finish the rest of the project. Debugging was tough, especially when we started getting to more complicated aspects of the game, and there was a learning curve with Flask.

Accomplishments that we're proud of

We're really proud we finished a working game that looks really nice. We still have a lot of work to do, but we want to continue making it more into a game.

What we learned

We learned how to navigate Unity, Flask, Heroku, as well as some of the details of player movement and collisions in Unity. We also learned more about UI, audio, and how to make parallax backgrounds and more complicated features.

What's next for Graffiti on the Moon

We really want to finish the game, and clean it up, as well as add more documentation, functionality to the website, and eventually a mobile app version of the game. We also tried to connect the domain to the website, but the DNS did not update in time for submission.
