Inspiration

One of our team members dreamed about creating this idea for the past 11 years, wanting to even do it as his master's project. Over this weekend we made this dream a reality.

What it does

Graffiti allows you to draw on any wall using nothing but your phone, mimicking the look and feel of traditional spray paint can, but in an environmentally friendly, and legal way. You can share your art with others and allow people to see your work.

How we built it

We built this app using RealityKit and SwiftUI on Xcode

Challenges we ran into

We spent the better part of the entire night, figuring out how to link up the two halves of our functionality, integrating the amazing UI with the RealityKit backend

Accomplishments that we're proud of

The fact that we didn't give up, and reached a breakthrough after hitting a new level of sleep deprivation, bringing our idea to life, reinvigorating our spirits for the next challenge to come.

What we learned

App development like crazy. 3/4 of our members have basically never used Xcode before, but all still managed to contribute and create our app. RealityKit is a pain in the butt.

What's next for Graffitex

We have a lot of cool ideas that could extend this app further. Implementing GeoLocation would allow people to see the same art and collaborate with their friends on the same wall. We could implement blockchain technology to allow Graffitex artists to publish their awesome work onto the front end.
