  1. Inspiration We wanted to make a positive impact on students who struggle to find the right university and career path. As students ourselves, we know how difficult and confusing the process can be. The lack of clear information and opportunities inspired us to create an AI-powered solution to help students decide what they want to study and where.

  1. How We Built It We designed GradPaths AI using a Large Language Model (LLM) trained for educational support.

Frontend: Built with Node.js and React, allowing students to chat with the bot, create a profile, and receive personalized recommendations. Backend: Developed in Python, where we store university and course data and connect it to the AI model through APIs.

  1. Challenges We Ran Into One of our biggest challenges was scraping university data. With limited time, it was difficult to collect and organize all the necessary information. To solve this, we relied on the AI model’s knowledge but carefully validated the data to avoid incorrect or misleading results.
