Grade Booster

Inspiration

Manually calculating grades can make it difficult for students to track progress and set goals, reducing motivation, especially when managing many assignments and exams.

What it does

Grade Booster leverages AWS AI-powered services to calculate the grades you need on upcoming assignments to meet your target GPA. It also includes a Study Buddy feature to help you develop study plans and prepare for exams.

How we built it

Grade Booster was created using AWS Partyrock and prompt engineering, combined with a flexible gradebook integration that supports various grading systems.

Challenges we ran into

One of the main challenges was accounting for the different grading curves in each class to accurately predict GPA. Currently, the app allows users to input a target final grade percentage, but future updates will include more advanced features to calculate GPA based on specific class curves.

Accomplishments that we're proud of

We’re proud of the motivation that Grade Booster offers students by simplifying their path to reaching their academic goals. With personalized study plans and quick, automated grade calculations, students can spend less time crunching numbers and more time focusing on their studies.

What we learned

We explored AWS’s latest AI technologies, including Bedrock, PartyRock, and Q. While PartyRock was the best fit for our current needs, we plan to eventually integrate Bedrock for a more versatile and personalized experience.

What's next for Grade Booster

In the future, we aim to add predictive grade analysis based on past performance and study habits, helping students create more realistic study plans. Additionally, we’ll enhance the app with personalized study plans to suit individual learning styles.
