Inspiration
What inspired us was some of our friends having lots of trouble being able to buy graphics cards.
What it does
This project was supposed to check inventory on websites such as Amazon, Newegg, and Best Buy for GPU availability. Unfortunately, we had trouble meeting the goal in time since we're new and were trying to learn JS, React, and get the Particles.js library all working before the deadline. The availability page is hard coded because of that. Also, towards the end Particles.js started having issues with the website's scale, so we removed it last minute.
How we built it
JS, React, CSS
Challenges we ran into
Implementing Particles.js, Learning React Router, trying to use Amazon's API and Best Buy's API to create a function that outputted whether the product is in stock.
Accomplishments that we're proud of
Getting the product to be at least functional and not looking too bad.
What we learned
React Router, more about Git, some new CSS properties.
What's next for GPU Availability
Hopefully, we make some improvements after and actually get the availability page working. Also, making it more responsive!
