We were inspired by the observation that many students take notes but often neglect to review them. This led us to develop an app that converts these notes into reviewable flash cards.
Our app works by taking handwritten notes and Word documents and using OpenAI to create flash cards. It's a straightforward yet effective method to make studying more efficient.
We built this app using Flask and OpenAI. The process was challenging, especially since we had no prior knowledge of JavaScript. Despite the struggles, we managed to learn JavaScript within a week and apply it to the development of this app.
One of the challenges we faced was understanding and applying JavaScript, as it was a new language for us. However, we're proud of the progress we made in such a short time and the fact that we now have a working minimal product.
This project has been a significant learning experience for us, not just in terms of acquiring new technical skills, but also in realizing the potential of AI in enhancing educational tools.
