Inspiration: The #RejectFinanceBill Movement in Kenya

Our solution is deeply inspired by the recent #RejectFinanceBill uproar in Kenya, where citizens from all walks of life united on social media and beyond to voice their concerns about the proposed finance bill. This movement highlighted a critical gap in public participation and transparency in the budget-making process. Despite widespread public outcry, many citizens felt their voices were ignored, leading to frustration and distrust in government processes.

The #RejectFinanceBill movement demonstrated that the people of Kenya are eager to engage with their government, but they need better tools and platforms to do so effectively. Citizens want to be heard, participate in decision-making, and demand transparency and accountability in how public funds are allocated and spent.

This outcry catalyzed our solution. There was civil unrest nationwide protests resulting to loss of precious lives 😢, valuable work hours (2 days in a week for demonstrations), economic losses.
