GPA Calculator App

A simple app that allows a student to quickly calculate their GPA by their school's standards!

Inspiration

-We found out that high school students had a hard time keeping up with their grades. In response to this, we came up with the GPA calculator app. With the app, students don't need to waste time trying to find a GPA calculator online that could be inaccurate. They can use our GPA calculator app that is installed on the student's Chromebook that can easily keep track of their GPA.

What it does

-The app helps calculate a students GPA score based on their school's standards.

How we built it

-We made our app with Flutter using VScode. The emulator used to run & test the app is from Android Studio.

Challenges we ran into

-A problem we faced across the whole project was consistently low group morale. We mitigated this by breaking the large project into more manageable pieces and changing the topic.

Accomplishments that we're proud of

-We were super proud that we were able to finish the app by the given deadline, and that we were able to pick up new skills as we were working on the project.

What we learned

-We have learned how to code using Flutter. We also learned how to use GitHub in order to store our code.

What's next for the GPA Calculator App

-This app currently does not have IOS support because it was developed using Flutter, an SDK to develop apps for Android devices. In the future, this app could also have support for Apple devices. In addition, the UI can be less heavy and there can be a larger focus on user comfort.
