GoWhereAh

Inspiration

We saw map apps like google maps give users the options of possible travel options but they do not put carbon footprints into consideration. As such we propose a solution whereby we will track the estimated total carbon footprint generated and propose an alternate navigation solution.

What it does

GoWhereAh is a telegram bot where it suggests users with the best alternative mode of transport other than cars while taking into account varying different factors.

The bot is linked to a machine learning API where it will predict alternative modes of transport for users. Variables such as the weather condition, how busy the roads are and the frequency of buses are examples of parameters our machine learning algorithm will consider before it decides what is the best mode of transport and route for our user.

This service encourages users to take public transportations rather than cars. With more users using public transportation, lesser greenhouse gases are emitted into our environment.

Challenges we ran into

Time is one very critical challenge that we are fazed by. We do not really have much time to think properly of what we actually can do of. We are also fazed by the fact that we are in the midst of internship. We are, however, unable to complete in the due to the high number of bugs we have found in our code.
